SAINT NECTARIOS OF AEGINA ORTHODOX ICON PRINT

Born in Selymbria, in Ottoman Thrace, in present-day Türkiye, on October 1, 1846, Nectarios later became closely associated with Athens and especially Aegina, in present-day Greece, where he founded the Holy Trinity Monastery and spent his final years in prayer, service, and spiritual guidance. Christian tradition remembers him as a bishop of humility, patience, and deep charity, beloved for faithful endurance through suffering and for the many healings linked to his intercession. He died in 1920 and remains especially cherished as a saint of healing, peace, and consolation.
