Born around 1045 in Hungary to an exiled Anglo-Saxon royal family, Margaret later became Queen of Scotland through her marriage to King Malcolm III. Margaret was also known as a devoted wife and mother who raised her children in faith and learning. She died in Edinburgh in 1093 and remains especially honored as a saint of queenship, motherhood, charity, and holy leadership. This image is especially meaningful for women of faith, mothers, and those with a love for Scottish Christian heritage.
